About Reel Vacations

Reel Vacations is an independent guide for people planning a trip with fishing at its heart, whether that is a half-day charter on a beach vacation or a week at an Alaska lodge.

We focus on the questions that decide a trip: which destination fits the fish you want and the month you can travel, how the charters and guides work there, where to base yourself, what it costs to do it different ways, and what everyone else in your group can do.

What makes it different

• Seasons from sources. Our species calendars come from state agencies, official tourism boards and credible fisheries sources, cited on every page.
• Structured discovery. The Trip Finder, species calendar and month guides are built from the same researched data, so they agree with each other.
• Honest about limits. We do not take bookings, and we do not invent prices or reviews. See our editorial policy.
